Dampa Yambert

What a week this has been for our family. Clayn's parents left Aug 12th to drive from Arizona, to our place, then to Montana, then over to Clayn's sister's in Clarkston, WA, then they were planning on going to Seattle for a couple of days, then driving down the coast of Oregon & into California to see Clayn's brother, & then back home. While they were in Montana, Bill (his dad), fell down & hurt his knee. He had this last winter & spring had both of his knees replaced. Well, he ended up with a bad staff infection.

We got a call last Thursday, from Ryan, (Clayn's brother) saying that Bill was in the ER in Oregon, they kept him there until Sunday, when they released him. Monday, while they were driving to Ryan's, they hit Redding & Bill was very sick, so Bev (his mom) took him to the ER there. We got a call yesterday morning at 7:30 from Bev, & Bill's kidney's were shutting down & his bowels were not functioning at all. They ran tests all day long yesterday, to try to figure out what was going on. To make a long story short, they think that it's all related to him falling & prescriptions, that he has been on & being dehydrated.

So, this afternoon, Ryan called & told us that Bill was headed into surgery, on his knee, to see how bad the infection is. They said that his knee is swollen to the size of a volley ball, from the staff infection. If the Doctors can, they will drain all the infection off of his knee, if not, there will be more operations through out the week. The Dr told Ryan that all of this is very high risk operation.

As of right now, we are going to try to remain prayerful & hopeful. I called 4 temples tonight to put their names on the prayer roll. Things like this, are never expected, but I believe & know that we are given situations like this to try us & to strengthen us. I pray for Bev, that she will be able to remain strong & that she will know that we are praying for her as much as we are praying for Bill.

Tonight as we were saying our family prayers, Parker really wanted to say them. Without any help at all, he blessed for all of the prayers for Dampa (grandpa) to help him, & that he will feel better soon. He went on to bless our prophet Pres Monson, (I didn't even know that he remembered who our prophet is), and then he blessed Tess's teacher at school. It was honestly the sweetest prayer, I have heard. Then when he said his own prayer, he blessed Dampa again. It was so incredible to hear this little boy that is so wild, & in trouble so much for being naughty & hitting, to take time out to say these prayers that were truly from his heart. It made me cry!

So, Grandpa, our prayers are with you & we hope that you will be well & have a speedy recovery! We love you!

I love hearing genuine, sweet, young prayers. They help me remember who they REALLY are and my role in helping them KNOW who they REALLY are. Keep up the good work!
