My First DI Experience

I have a confession that I must get off my chest. I went & bought somethings yesterday at the DI, for really, I think the first time in my life. I am not a second hand store type of gal. Not that I'm too good for it, but because I have issues with these types of stores.

Yesterday, I was talking with my friend, and she had just been there & showed me some of the cutest clothes that she had just bought for her little girl. I mean, CUTE! Tess, has needed a few more long sleeve shirts & I thought what the heck, I'll give it a shot. So, she told me how I needed to go about this & examine the clothing to make sure that it was in good shape. I was ready, off we went. Clayn stayed in the car & my friend kept Parker for me.

Tess & I enter the DI, immediately I know why I hate these type of stores. They SMELL! And not in a good way. OK, they STINK! Yuck! I just about walked out right then, but then, I remembered the cute clothes my friend had gotten. So, I walked further in. I started out in the long sleeve shirts & sweaters. I was finding NOTHING!!! I mean really. I was about to leave, but then I thought just keep on looking for a minute. I found a cute long sleeve shirt with flowers, that looked like new. I grabbed it. I moved on, still hating the way it smelled. In fact, I kept on looking at Tess & she had her hand over her nose, making a funny face.

I moved to a different rack, I found another plain long sleeve shirt, Tess found a glittery one. Remember, how I told you that Tess & I don't have the same taste, right now. Hopefully that will change as she grows & will not go for the Las Vegas type of shirts. Then I found a pretty cute fleece that was in good shape. And then a cute little Levi jacket. So, I thought this is pretty good.

I came out of there with 3 long sleeve shirts, a fleece & a Levi jacket. Pretty impressive, huh? Yeah, it gets better for the sum total of, drum roll please. . . . . . $13.78. Yep, I'm pretty good. Clayn was quite impressed.

However, I must add that we did run to Freddie's last night & I did end up getting her 2 more really cute long sleeve shirts there, not near the price, but I think they were $18 for the 2.

So, yes, I got a better deal at the DI, but I'd better. I have never really cared for the DI. My mom, has always hated buying clothes that somebody else has worn & wondering where they've been. And I must admit that I'm the same way. I have a problem with it. But, I did it. And they are not bad.

Although, why can't they at least put in some air fresheners? Why must it smell musty & old, like an old lady that lives alone that hasn't showered in weeks & has cats? I mean, REALLY???

I'm proud of you! Sorry it was so gross. At least you know what it's like now instead of wondering.
As for the smell.... next time where a face mask and some laytex gloves. If anyone asks just tell them there is a SARS outbreak and you are just taking precautions.
