I ran across an old, dear kindred spirit yesterday,that I had forgot about for way too long. That is how I feel about Ann with a E! She and I became acquaintances back about 23 years ago. I was about 12 years old, when I first watched & feel in love with her & all of Avonlea. Oh, how I enjoyed my time with her. I know that sounds weird, but, that's how I feel like, she has been an old childhood friend that I haven't seen in several years & then we reunite out friendship.
I love the simple life they live. I always wanted & wished that I could grow up living in Green Gables. It's a dream of mine to go to Prince Edward Island one day & to see & feel the beauty of this wonderful show.
I love how each time I watch Anne, I find different parts of my life that I feel that Anne & I are truly "kindred spirits." Growing up, my red hair was truly my lot in life. I absolutely HATED every minute of it. And now as a grown up it's much more auburn & I love it! Now, I am plagued with gray hair, oh, how I'd take all red hair any day of the week, over this old lady gray.
I love the relationship that she develops with Matthew, very quickly. He loved his little girl & he needed her as much as she needed him. The dress with the puffiest sleeves ever & the perfect string of pearls that he gives her. I love that her relationship with Marilla isn't quite as easy when she is younger, but as she grows, they grow closer. I love how Marilla is a very hard working strong willed woman. I have always admired that about her. However, I always feel that she has missed out on true love in her life & that is a regret that she has had to live with.
And, how can I go any further without mentioning the dreamy Gil! Seriously, he wanted to get to know her from day one & she was a stubborn pill for a very long time & he held out for all those years, because he knew in his heart, there would never be any one who would measure up to Anne in his eyes.
My favorite line in the movie ~ "I don't want sun bursts or marble halls, I just want You!"
There is so much to be taken from this story and I feel like every time I watch it, I truly fall in love with it over & over again. When it ends, I feel like crying, because it's so amazing & I simply don't want it to end & because I feel like I'm a better person, because I have watched it. Which is quite rare these days.

If you are one of those few who have not seen it, head out & get it, you need to watch them both, Anne of Green Gables & Anne of Avonlea. I promise you, you too, will fall in love with our
