OK, so I have got quite a bit to get caught up on, this past week has been a busy one & I haven't had much time to update. So, hold on here I go . . . Last Tuesday we went swimming in the evening with some friends & took a picnic dinner. The kids thought it was great! The weather was a little overcast & cloudy & we even had a few sprinkles, but it didn't stop Tess & Parker. Tess had some very cute friends that met us there, that are new to our Ward in Church & they had a Grand Time! I have to say that I thought the weather was fine, because them it was so stinkin' hot like it usually is & the lazy river felt very good.
On Thursday was our errand day, Clayn woke up with a tooth killing him, so we all went to the dentist with him, so Tess could see that it really wasn't away scary experience like she's had in the past. It didn't even end up being his tooth, it was sinus's. So then, we went & got some pizza for lunch. Then Clayn decided that he wanted to go into Sportsman's Warehouse. We've had it here I think for at least a year & we've never been in, and with Clayn turning me into a camper, ;) he thinks! I reluctantly went in, although I did have ulterior motives, I wanted to run over to the mall. So if I went in there with him, he couldn't complain about going in with me. So, I was a good sport & went in. It was actually a fun store. We ended up buying a dutch oven. Clayn was so excited, because this goes with all of the other camping equipment that we now own, Yeah! Can you see me grinning & cheering because I can't wait! Whoo Hoo!
A big accomplishment for me happened last week. Libby & I are going to start going swimming, 2 to 3 days a week. OK, so anyone who really knows me, knows that I am SO, SO, SO Scared of deep water!!! And when I say deep water that is anything past 5 feet. Because I can no longer touch & then I just know that I will drown! You think I"m joking, hahaha! Yeah, right I'm so not! I toke swimming lessons when I was a child & I was so scared then. And I had a terrible, no good, rotten teacher that would just push me in the pool, & in my minds eye I was drowning! So, my fear continued on into high school, when we would have to swim for 2 weeks. I would try to fake sick for 2 weeks, whether it be at home before school, or during PE. I just couldn't do it. So my fear continues on, and our family used to go boating every year to Lake Mead. My 2 uncles would stop their boats int he middle of this lake & everybody would jump in. That is except me & the babies. There were 3 and 4 year olds that were in there & I wasn't because imagine that I could touch in 35 feet. Yeah, I know it doesn't sound logical. But usually when people have fears, they are logical. So, continue on with me & Libby swimming, we went last week & I thought that the pool at the college, would be oh, like the deepest 6 feet, which still scares but not too bad because I'm 5'9". Yeah right, 10 feet. OK, now a I can not swim, so I was going to do the kick board. So, Libby knows my fear, she can see it in my eyes & she just keeps on saying you're OK, over & over again. I use the kick board just a little past 5 & then we turn around & go back. We do that a few times & then she says let's go the whole length of the pool. I have never, ever gone past 5' on purpose. So, we get going & we hit about 7 & then * & I'm totally freaking out inside & Libby is talking me through this. So I did it. Oh, wait it totally get's better. So, we just keep on going back & forth & then she says that she's going to teach me how to tread water, that is in 10 feet. I honestly thought I was going to lose it. We did it the first time for 2 minutes, & then I got on my kick board & went back, the 2nd time 3 minutes, then we went back & the 3rd time we treaded water for a straight 5 minutes & I found out that I could save myself if I ever needed to, if I can just get past that first initial fear. We haven't gone yet this week, because she works ont Monday & Tuesday, so we'll go the rest of the week. We'll see how I do, I'm sure that for the first little while, that I will freak out, because it's just how it's been for me for 34 years. I can't expect to over come it that fast, just by baby steps. Yeah, but it really was a huge accomplishment in my life.
Now, the high light of the week! Libby & I went Friday at 1:30 to go & see my favorite play, ever! Yeah, Mamma Mia! The wait was finally over! We went & took her twins & Tess. Tess wanted to go so bad, she knows the music by heart, because I have it on all the time! So, we went & had lunch at Bajio, (yummy) then we went to the movie. It was a crack up! We got in there, and I always have to sit on the back row, because of my vision,if I sit up close I have to move my head back & forth to see the screen, but, I have found that sitting on the back row is the very best seat in the theater. As we were sitting there waiting, it was a crack up, because we had 2 guys come & sit right in front of us & Tess just could not figure out why guys would be coming to see this movie. She just didn't get it. Then as we were still waiting, I swear that every old lady in town showed up to see Mamma Mia. I told Libby that it was all of the DIP's in town. In Utah, the old ladies are the DUP's (Daughter's of the Utah Pioneer's). So here in Idaho, my mom & I like to call them the DIP's (Daughter's of the Idaho Pioneer's). I'd much rather be a DUP, than a DIP, don'tcha think! Anyways,it was filled with every DIP or wanna be DIP in town. ;) I think I'm so funny! So, back to Mamma Mia, it did not disappoint! I was so happy with it, and Clayn wants to go & see it, so I guess that he'll have to twist my arm to get me to go back. I had a grin on my face from ear to ear from beginning to end! I loved every minute of it & honestly, how can you go wrong with Abba, Oh No, you can't! They are my favorite, in fact I think I"m going to have to burst into song, now, "Super Trooper, lights are gonna find me, shining like the sun, smiling havin' fun feelin' like a number 1." I thought that Meryl Streep did a great job when she sang "The Winner Takes It All," was amazing! And cute Amanda Seyfried, as Sophie was amazing. She is so cute & her voice is amazing! I honestly had so much fun with it! It will be on the top of my Christmas list, so I can watch it as much as I want to! Yeah!~
OK, so, then on Saturday I had a Christmas in July scrap book day. I went & made some cute birthday calenders & then I've got to make some recipes books. It was really a fun day!
So, that was last week, very busy! But fun! I'd better add that Clayn went to see Hell Boy & Batman The Dark Knight. He enjoyed them both, although he thought that PG13 for batman was not right, he thought it should have been R for all the violence, that didn't stop him from enjoying it of course. I"m glad that I didn't go. I'll stick with my happy Mamma Mia! Go see it & just sit back & enjoy!
