My Dear Mother

My dear mom has had quite the day today. Any of you that know me, knows that my mom is one of my favorite people, Ever! She is one of my very best friends & always has been. She & my dad were gone for 9 days on a cruise to Alaska, & it almost killed me not being able to talk with her while they were gone. They had an amazing time, but I am very HAPPY that they are back & that I have been able to chat with her this week.
Today, on her way out of church, her heel got stuck in a crack in the side walk & she fell, very hard & has broken her left knee cap & 2 of her knuckles & 1 finger on her right hand. My dad is the bishop & some people ran in to his office & got him, when she fell. He & my brother, Spence took her to the ER & she was in there for 3 hours. They wrapped her up & gave her some pain meds & sent her home. She has to go back in, in the morning & see the Orthopedic Surgeon. More than likely they are going to have to operate on her knee. I feel so bad for her. Her other knee that she didn't break is also killing her & she can't walk. She is really in a bind right now. And the timing really couldn't be worse, my sister is getting married in about a week & a half. I feel so helpless in not being able to be there to help her. We will go down on Friday & take them some food for my dad & some movies & books, so that she doesn't go CRAZY!!!
Mom, I am so SORRY for this awful accident. Just know that you are in our thoughts & prayers & that we love you. Parker is just very thankful that you didn't break your neck! He really has a way of putting things into perspective. Hang in there, take care, love you!
