What a Weekend!

Where do I even begin with this weekend? Ummm, CRAZY! On Saturday, I was so excited that we did not have to be up & at a soccer game first thing in the morning, so I was making some food. The kids had cleaned their rooms & they were playing & Clayn ran to the store for me; I was making Sunday dinner for my friend, who just had a baby. All of a sudden, I heard Parker screaming, I ran to the top of the stairs, & we officially had a pond in our house. Down at the bottom of our steps, we had water all over the place. (I wish that I had taken pictures of it) Luckily, it was where my washer & dryer are & there's no carpet there. I thought we are lucky that we have a drain right there, although, the problem was the drain. Clayn got home & we grabbed the wet/dry vac, and he pulled water out & dumped, a ton of water. Every time we use any of our water in the house, it floods down there. REALLY?!? So, I have been waiting all morning for a plumber to get here. He should be coming. I'm afraid for what it may be. WHO KNOWS?

So, this weekend, I have been very thankful for a well functioning home; where we can run the water for a shower, wash dishes & clothes, wash hands, & even flush the toilet. I will be even more grateful, when I can get my home functioning properly again! I haven't felt very good either, so I am very thankful for a healthy functioning body. I've got something going on inside of me, & I've got to get it gone. Fun times!

I have made some good food this weekend, I'll have to post. Yummy baked potato soup, rolls, my favorite cheese ball & pumpkin pie squares. All food that is associated with the fall & comfort.

I also, need to address that yes, I do have Christmas music on. If I had my way, we would start playing it in September. I love all of the music & sounds of Christmas & a month is just not enough for me, so yes, I jump the gun. But, it makes me happy!

One more funny thing that made me laugh. Last night we were watching The Amazing Race, and in the middle of it, Parker, said," Dad, Rewind it." So, Clayn rewound the show & Parker said something about an opera. What, we could not understand, what he was saying. Then Tess our little translator, says, "Mom, he said that lady looks like Oprah, you know the one that you watch on TV." There is a black lady on the Amazing Race & Parker said that she looked like Oprah. It totally made us laugh. Very perceptive. But, do all black ladies look like Oprah, REALLY?!? What a kid!
