The Democratic Convention

OK, so I know that a lot of you out there right now are rolling your eyes thinking, "Oh, what is she going to say about the Democrats." Just wait, & give me a chance here. I'm going to say where I stand only once & then tell you my thoughts. Right now, I think that I would call my self an independent. I don't agree with the Republicans or the Democrats on many things. I did vote for George W. and look at the mess he has us in. I'm not happy with him at all. I'm not happy with John McCain either. And there are things that I absolutely do not agree with Obama on. However, I have to say that we, of course, with Clayn have watched or listened to almost all of the speeches at the Democratic Convention over the past 4 nights. There have been some that I agreed with & others, that I just chose not to even listen to. I must say that I did listen to Michelle Obama. I very much so enjoyed & agreed with a lot of what she had to say. I think that she is a very classy lady & I love the fact that they really are involved with their girls. I listened also, to parts of Obama, last night, I will say that I did fall asleep through about 1/2 of it. But from the first part that I heard, I thought it was great! Now, I know any one can sound good, when they have a speech writer, writing the perfect words, & then being able to practice, practice & practice saying it. But, there are parts of Obama that I really do like, and then there are other choices that he has made which are absolutely deal breakers for me. However, I must say, that Mr. Conservative McCain, definitely doesn't have the best role model of a family life and that to me has something to do it. Now, am I saying that I'm going to vote for Obama over McCain. NO! I really don't know what I'm going to do, I'm not really happy with either choice. Just because, my husband has chosen who he is going for, doesn't mean that I'm following him. I'm a big girl and I can make up my mind for myself. In the last election, we cancelled each other out. Sometimes, things get a little heated around here in our views. Who would have guessed that this conservative girl from Utah would marry this more liberal man from northern Idaho. I never would have guessed a few years back, that I would be as into the world of politics as I am now. I watch Meet the Press every Sunday. And I will just add, that more than anything, right now I'm missing Tim Russert. He was truly my favorite to watch & listen to. I felt like he was fair and he gave us the facts. So, yes I do know what's going on the world, thanks to my NPR listening husband. I really hate it, but, there are some that I can listen to , as far as Diane Reams goes, though, I can't stand her voice. I feel like she is going to be dying soon, because she sounds so old. I know terrible thing to say! This has turned into a lot more than what I had first started to write. I think that what I'm saying is that I am happy with the speeches from the Obama's. That does not mean that I'm going to vote for him. I will listen to McCain & see what I think of them at the Republican Convention. Let's just say right now that I am Switzerland! I come in peace & I just want there to be peace, love & happiness for all! That's my story & I'm sticking to it!
